ROY GONZALEZ

Roy has played music for most of his life. He used to tour with punk bands in his twenties, and even operated his own venue while in college. As an artist in Chicago, he has played in basements, alleyways, rooftops, kitchens, and actual stages of all sizes. He has also composed original music for several theatre companies, including an opera about Jesus Christ battling John F. Kennedy.

 

His teaching career began in 2019, leading music classes for young with people with Autism for an arts program in the West Loop. This led to teaching music and drama at numerous schools around the city, specializing in Social Emotional Learning, and how art can assist in giving students the ability to express themselves in a healthy and introspective manner.

 

Beyond his music career, Roy is a professional actor, and has been featured in several TV shows, commercials, and print ads. He will be playing Dracula in a very silly production later this year.
