Kyle Wesley is a guitarist...
... pianist, teacher, engineer, producer and songwriter currently residing in Chicago, IL. Having his hand in many facets of the music business has given Kyle unparalleled experience to teach others.
Studying in high school under Teddy Larsen (Jonny Lang’s teacher and bandmate) gave Kyle a great understanding of blues music and the potential creativity within simplicity. Developing his melodic playing and the guitar’s relationship with rhythm led Kyle to pursue his education further by going to the MSUM.
Under the tutelage of Nick Fryer at MSUM, Kyle Wesley delved deep into complex jazz harmony and intricate engineering studies. While at MSUM, Kyle found himself performing at the jazz club Studio 222, the orchestra pit for the local theatre and opening for Ok Go at Concordia University. Feeling like he could take his education yet another step, Kyle Wesley flew to Boston and applied to the prestigious Berklee College of Music.
While navigating Berklee, Kyle learned advanced composition, became proficient in mixing and mastering, and was taught by Mike Ihde (Nashville session musician) ways to simplify the complexity of everything Kyle had previously learned on guitar. Kyle then decided to take his skills into the world.
Living in Nashville, TN Kyle Wesley found himself teaching guitar, working in studios and honing his production skills. He recorded and engineered a live video from the famed 12th & Porter music venue as well as began mixing and mastering singer songwriter EP’s.
Moving to Chicago opened up a lot of doors for Kyle Wesley. He began his band Winter and the Waves releasing a debut EP, began working as a music director for short films and began his focused work as a teacher.
Kyle Wesley is continuing his work with short films, Winter and the Waves and pursuing his teaching career. He currently owns and operates the Wesley School of Music, which brings music back to schools and students as well as advancing professionals on their paths.
