Kristina Nie

Piano | Clarinet

Kristina Nie is currently finishing her Bachelor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance at the Chicago College of Performing Arts under the tutelage of John Yeh and Teresa Reilly. She was also a member of the Wheaton Municipal Band conducted by Dr. Bruce Moss for the 2023 season. 

 

Over the course of her undergraduate degree, Nie took courses in musical pedagogy and taught clarinet and piano lessons as part of the musical non-profit Through the Staff. 

 

As an aspiring orchestral musician, Nie has participated in several music festivals in recent years. In 2023, she participated in the Buffet Crampon Summer Clarinet Academy where she studied with Todd Cope, Marci Gurnow, Diana Haskell, Gregory Raden, and Victoria Luperi. In 2024, she was a participant of the Chicago Summer Opera and Orchestra festival, where she played the Nielsen Quintet and Ibert Quintet in the chamber concert and served as the principal clarinetist in the opera pit of Hansel and Gretel, conducted by Codrut Birsan. In the summer of 2024, Nie played clarinet, bass clarinet, and Eb clarinet in the Credo Music Festival’s performance of Mahler Symphony No. 1.
