ERVINO RIEGER

Brazilian-born pianist Ervino Rieger had established himself as one of the most prominent Brazilian pianists of his
generation. He had his debut with orchestra with the Montevideo Philharmonic in Uruguay with the conductor Ligia
Amadio. In addition, he has been working with Latin-American conductors such as Silvio Viegas, Emiliano Patarra,
Martin Garcia, Fernando Ortiz de Villate and Jose Maria Florencio with GRU-Symphony, Porto Alegre’s Symphony,
Botucatu Symphony Orchestra, and Repertoire Experimental Orchestra.
Silver medalist from the Chopin National Competition in Brazil and recipient of the Special prize for the best performance
of a Nocturne, Ervino was also 1st prize winner at the WPTA Portugal International Competition and the Young Soloists
Competition of the GRU Symphony and Botucatu Symphony orchestras, besides also winning the Nelson Freire Prize
at the Rio International Piano Festival.
He got his master’s degree at the New England Conservatory studying with Meng-Chieh Liu and is currently studying
with Adam Neiman as a recipient of the CPA scholarship at the Chicago College of Performing Arts. In Brazil, he studied
with Eduardo Monteiro and received his bachelor's degree with Ney Fialkow at the Federal University of Rio Grande
do Sul.
Ervino is the 2026 Aeolin Classics Emerging Artist award winner.
